Unexpected destination

Last night we were thinking we would stay somewhere in the San Joaquin Valley, do some laundry and clean up the car a bit so we didn't show up in Fresno like poor relations. Then my friend Betty called and said that we were coming there for the night. What a good friend to take us in with all our our grubbiness! Once I knew we were about to reunite I couldn't wait to go to sleep so I could wake up and be on our way.

Going back to Fresno is a bit like going home. It was here Jim and I were married, here where our firstborn son came into the world, and more eternally important, here where Jim fully accepted Jesus as his Savior. Our memories in Fresno are precious

On the way over the golden hills of California we stopped at the San Juan Bautista Mission. It was full of California history and was such a serene place. We were so glad we stopped there.

We arrived at Don & Betty's house about 2 PM and the conversation didn't stop until we went to bed tonight. How good it is to be with this soul sister who feeds my spirit! In my excitement I forgot to take pictures of them but I am sure there will be more opportunities as we will be with them again in a week.
