Once again our day was filled with interesting moments. We began the day with Stan teaching us about the harvesting of almonds and raisins. It is the first time I remember seeing almonds on the trees. We ate raisins right from the vine and for some reason I was surprised that they tasted like...raisins!
After our agricultural tour we visited the Shafter museum. Stan has done so much work to make this museum what it is today and it is so well done. We really appreciated our time there. We have learned so much on this trip.
Nancy kindly made arrangements for me to have a much needed haircut in Bakersfield this afternoon. It was fun to have some "girl time" and hopefully I look a little less bedraggled.
We spent mid afternoon with Rod and Carolyn. These are friends from Shafter who we met at home in Zeeland through Stan and Nancy from California. I love how God blesses us through interwoven lives!
Tonight we met with a Bible study group from Stan and Nancy's church. It is so good to share our earthly lives with those with whom we will share heaven.
